Alan Goss is a dynamic communications professional with over eighteen years of professional experience and expertise in community engagement, stakeholder relations, reputation and brand stewardship, public affairs and crisis communications. With roles at notable firms such as Public Strategies, Hill+Knowlton Strategies, the Monument Group and four years running his own firm, Bonham PR, Alan brings years of experience to Coover | Goss and is dedicated to helping clients navigate the complexities of public engagement and driving client success through data-informed strategy, compelling storytelling and effective execution that delivers meaningful impact.
For the past four years, his work has focused on running impactful community and stakeholder engagement programs for energy clients across the state of Texas. His work with companies such as Pine Gate Renewables, Cypress Creek Renewables and Invenergy has consistently delivered impactful and measurable results by developing authentic relationships with elected officials, communities, the media and key stakeholders critical to their reputation, bottom line and project success. In a public landscape where social license to operate was challenged at each step of the way, Alan has helped his clients navigate local pressures - one project and one community at a time. Across more than 25 projects in numerous Texas counties and municipalities, his work helped secure key permits and tax abatement incentives, mitigated local opposition, and fostered community goodwill and trusting relationships for his clients.
In his time at Public Strategies, Hill+Knowlton Strategies and The Monument Group, Alan established a proven track record of driving major change initiatives, delivering strategic guidance and actionable insights, and executing communications campaigns for marquis clients across numerous business sectors, including Target, Blackstone, Ford, UPS, Deloitte, Invenergy, Goldman Sachs, Conoco Phillps, AT&T and many more. He also honed his public affairs skills at the State-level in Texas, developing innovative public affairs strategies to shape public opinion and impact policy by creating high-impact programs that elevated the visibility of issues important to clients and created favorable environments for success on key issues. Public affairs experience and expertise include campaign strategy and management, message development and testing, coalition building, public opinion research, competitive research, lobby coordination, digital engagement, grassroots outreach and ally recruitment and mobilization.
With an early career in the television and film industry in Los Angeles, CA, Alan both honed his skills at and saw the importance of impactful storytelling. He brings those years of experience and creativity into each client he works with today.
Alan holds an MBA from St. Edward’s University and currently lives in Austin and is a father to three beautiful children. As a native Texan, born in Dallas and raised in Austin, he understands the language Texans speak and the importance of community, authenticity and a trusting handshake. It’s that Texas mentality and understanding that have delivered, and will continue to deliver, successful outcomes for clients across the State.
